AHS Machinery Service & Sales is currently interviewing for the following position:


Electro-Mechanical Apprentice Field Technician
(Computer Controlled Machine Tool Repair/Retrofit)

Perform general electrical/mechanical assembly and wiring of custom industrial control panels/enclosures; and field replacement of NC/CNC machine tool control systems. Applicant will gain experience installing, troubleshooting and repairing mechanical production-machine systems, along with good general electrical and controls experience; covering PLC’s, motion control loops, relays, motors, sensors, wiring, etc.; while working alongside Senior Technicians.

Job requires some overnight travel (all travel expenses reimbursed).

Qualifications:

We are seeking someone local with overall mechanical experience, and a working knowledge of basic bench and hand tools. Mechanical aptitude plus the ability to read prints and follow simple electrical schematic drawings is required.

Applicant must be responsible and accountable, with attentiveness to detail, good eye-hand dexterity and the ability to work with tools. Previous work experience or extended lab hours in training would be ideal, but not required.

Applicant must understand fluent English-(speak, read, write) and also have a valid current driver’s license with a clean driving record, and be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.

Starting as PART-TIME or FULL TIME, salary will be commensurate with experience. Full benefits available for Full-Time Permanent employee.

Work Environment:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.

Working environment varies from shop bench assembly to in-field machine preparation at manufacturing facilities. Daily hours vary. Travel to and from remote job sites is paid, and all work and travel expenses are reimbursed.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud. Ear and eye protection will be provided.
